Spinal Decompression Therapy

We help people of all ages in San Antonio with their back pain using spinal decompression therapy.

Spinal decompression therapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical treatment for back pain that has become increasingly popular in recent years. It involves using a specialized table or device to stretch the spine and alleviate pressure on the spinal discs and nerves.

The theory behind spinal decompression therapy is that by creating negative pressure within the spinal discs, it can encourage the retraction or repositioning of herniated or bulging discs. This can help to reduce pain and improve mobility by decreasing pressure on the nerves in the spinal column.

Spinal decompression therapy is typically used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Herniated or bulging discs

  • Sciatica

  • Spinal stenosis

  • Degenerative disc disease

  • Facet syndrome

  • Failed back surgery syndrome

Our treatment involves lying on "Back on Trac" by Ergo Flex's special table that applies a gentle pulling force to the spine. The pulling force can be applied in a variety of ways, such as through the use of a harness or straps around the hips, or through a specialized machine that applies intermittent traction to the spine.

Each treatment session usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes, and a typical treatment course can last anywhere from several weeks to several months, depending on the severity of the patient's condition.

If you're considering spinal decompression therapy, set up a consultation with us to determine if it's the right treatment option for you.
